We have received reports of a telemarketing agency that is using Sharon City School District phone numbers in attempt to scam Sharon residents for money. Specifically, requesting that funds be placed in an Amazon account. Please note that this is a fraud and that NO Sharon City School District group will ever use telemarketing for such purposes. If you are contacted please inform the Sharon Police and your phone company.

The COVID-19 relief packages recently passed by the United States Congress contain numerous benefits for families financially impacted by the pandemic. Some of these benefits are available to students who are eligible for free or reduced-price school meals. Even though all Sharon students are currently receiving free meals under the current Federal waiver, if you feel your child would qualify for free or reduced-price school meals under normal school circumstances, we encourage you to submit an application (if you have not already done so) as soon as possible so you may become eligible for these new benefits. Applications are available by contacting your child's school cafeteria. this application will then be used to determine which benefits your child(ren) may be eligible for. This will not impact your child's current meal status.

Attention Sharon Middle/High School Students and Parents... Picture Make Up Day for Sharon Middle/High School students will be Wednesday, January 27th. Any student who did not have his/her picture taken in the fall or anyone who would like to retake their picture will need to do so on Wednesday. Virtual students need to come in from 10:30-12:30 and will need to check in at the main office where temperature checks will occur. Congratulations to Sharon Tiger Freshman, Mark Cattron, who broke the Sharon High Record in the 100 meter backstroke on Saturday 1/23 vs Hickory. Mark's record of 57.42 seconds breaks the record set by his brother Zach!

HopeCAT Center is offering a series of FREE, engaging, after school programs which are open for enrollment at this time for any students enrolled in Grades 9 -12. All classes will be held in person thanks to the large, open spaces and ability to easily social distance in the various studios. All enrollment is online through the HopeCAT website. Sharon HS Students interested in Driver's Education... Attention any Sharon HS student wishing to take the next Driver's Education course for Quarter 3: Class will begin Tuesday, January 19th, 2021. The Sharon City School District has released its plans forr the Third Nine-Week Grading period which begins on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Please review the letter outlining necessary information that can be found at this link: https://5il.co/oi1e Families wishing to change their child's instructional option (in-person to virtual or virtual to in-person) must complete the Change in Instructional Placement form, a link to which can be found as part of the above mentioned letter, by Friday, January 15, 2021.

A Note From Mr. Fitzgerald... Attention all Sharon Middle/High School students: Just as a general reminder please make sure you are taking care of your school issued Chromebook. While they have made things easier and provide many educational opportunities - they must be taken care of properly. We have seen many computers being returned when students move, need a repair or may simply just stop working and the condition that they are in when they are returned is not acceptable. If a computer is determined to not work properly due to your care, you will be required to pay for the repair or replacement of the computer. You should not be eating or drinking around the device and you should wipe it off frequently. We have seen computers brought back that have food scrapes dried to them, scratches all over them, cracked screens and so on. At the start of the school year you signed a technology agreement policy that stated you were responsible for any damages to the device while it was in your possession. "Possession" means from the time we gave it to you until the time we collect it back. We do not want to see anyone have to pay for the device due to lack of proper care, but if we do get them back or have to clean them you can and will be billed for the repair services. Please take time now to clean yours up and refrain from eating, drinking or placing stickers on the computer itself. Thank you.
