Important AP Testing Information from Ms. Croach…

1. On AP Central, students can see course-specific exam information, including exam dates and times, descriptions of what they'll be asked to do on their exam, and more; exam features; exam scoring; and exam security.

2. We strongly encourage students to access daily AP live classes and review on YouTube at https://youtube.com/advancedplacement for daily lessons.

3. This year's exams focus on content most teachers covered prior to March. So this year's exams have been designed to honor and reward the good work students already did prior to school closures.

4. Any student that is in need of internet or device support should reach out directly by April 24th to cb.org/tech. I also recommend they contact Ms. Croach as I may be able to support them with this issue.

5. Colleges across the country are voicing strong support for students to complete the AP experience, take the exams, and receive the college credit they deserve.

Taking Exams:

1. Students will get their testing credentials from an email and/or on their College Board account, so make sure they are checking their emails. They must take the exam at the assigned date and time.

2. AP Exams have been revised to about 45 minutes each with an additional 5 minutes for uploading, and will be taken online, at home (or should schools reopen, exams can be taken at school with their standard teacher during their class pd). Students will need to access the online testing system 30 minutes early to get set up.

3. Each exam can be taken on any device - computer, tablet, or Smartphone by either typing and uploading their responses or writing responses by hand and submitting a photo via their cell phone.

4. Students taking World Language and Culture exams will complete two spoken tasks consistent with free-response questions 3 and 4 on the current AP Exam.

5. Exam questions are designed and administered in ways to prevent cheating.

6. AP Exams are scheduled for May 11-22 (see our schedule below).

7. A student may opt-out of the exam if they prefer not to test this year for no penalty. There is no fee if a student opts-out and nothing they have to do to opt-out, they merely just sit out from taking the exam. However, they are encouraged to take their exams as they have been working hard all year and the types of questions will be ones that they have been working on all year and are familiar with.

8. There will be a free AP testing guide to advise students what to do if something goes wrong during testing (such as connectivity issues).
